POTENTIAL TOURISM PROJECTS
FOR THE PROPERTY OWNED BY UNI-DRAGON MINING
& DEV. CORP IN PULANGDAGA, GUMAUS, PARACALE CAMARINES NORTE

 

I. INTRODUCTION

A. There is a new law on tourism entitled TOURISM ACT OF 2009 which is Republic Act No. 9593.

B. The TOURISM ACT OF 2009 declares and establishes Tourism Enterprise Zones or TEZ. Either private entities or local government units (LGU) may apply for the declaration of an area as a TEZ.

C. The Operator of a TEZ as well as all tourist enterprises located in a TEZ are given INCENTIVES such as:

1. Twelve (12) year’s income tax exemption
2. Tax and Duty free importation
3. Tax credits
4. Other incentives

D. Additionally, foreign investors with investments of U.S. $ 200,000.00 in a TEZ, are granted SPECIAL INVESTOR’S RESIDENT VISA allowing them to reside in the Philippines.

II. HOW TO GET THERE-

From Manila, overland trip by private car or commercial air-conditioned buses via the Maharlika Highway around 300 kilometers that can be negotiated in about 7 hours, to the capital town of Daet, Camarines Norte. It has a local airport which is accessible from Manila by air in less than an hour’s flight. From Daet, private vehicles or jeepneys can bring visitors for another 15 minutes trip to the fishing town of Mercedes, where a local motor launch or “pumpboat” can ferry visitors to the UNI-DRAGON MINING & DEV. CORP PROPERTY in about 30 minutes depending of the tide and winds.

III. POTENTIAL TOURISM PROJECTS

A. Declaration and establishment of a Tourism Enterprise Zone (TEZ) in the UNI-DRAGON MINING & DEV. CORP Property.

B. Setting up tourism projects in the TEZ Potential tourism projects are:

1. Beach Resort
2. Golf Course
3. Hotel
4. Retirement Village for foreign Retires
5. Gambling and Scuba Diving
6. Wind Surfing

C. Other Potential Non-Tourism Projects

1. Natural Spring Water Bottling
2. Mining

IV. ACTIVITIES-

People from the mainland go to the white beaches for picnics and swimming. They also go for mountain and seashore trekking along both sides of the UNI-DRAGON MINING & DEV. CORP. property (western and eastern sides). The calmer western beaches is ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving considering the coral formations and tropical fishes that abound in the area. Also the western portion facing the mainland is ideal for wind surfing. While the Eastern (Pacific) side has several perfect spots for Surfing. The forest in the Northern part is the sanctuary of Big nocturnal bats, and they usually come out in big numbers in the evening.
